Ready, Set, Row! (Intro to Rowing) - 2026 - Fredericton, NB

The application period for Soldier On members wishing to participate in the Ready, Set, Row! program from 9-11 June 2026 is now open. The application deadline is 20 May 2026.

AIM AND SCOPE OF EVENT:
Join Soldier On for a three-day Intro to Rowing experience in Fredericton, in partnership with Two Rivers Rowing. This beginner-friendly program is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of rowing in a supportive and inclusive environment. The first session will take place indoors at the base gym, where participants will learn foundational techniques and become familiar with rowing equipment before progressing to on-water sessions.

Throughout the event, members will build skills in proper rowing stroke technique, boat handling, balance, and basic water safety through a mix of land-based and on-water training. No prior experience is required—just a willingness to try something new and connect with fellow members. This event offers a great opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and experience the physical and mental benefits of being on the water.

The number of Soldier On participants is limited to 12.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Any serving member or veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) from the Fredericton Area who acquired a permanent physical or mental health illness or injury while enrolled as a member of the CAF; whether attributable or not to service.

Selected Serving members will require the approval of their Chain of Command to participate.
